Costa-Gavras has settled in Paris in 1951 and joined the IDEHC. In the late fifties, he becomes assistant director of Henri Verneuil, René Clément, Jacques Demy and Jean Becker. His first movie Compartiment tueurs (also known as The Sleeping Car Murders) achieves a great success in 1965. He excels himself with Z in 1969 that carries off two prices in Cannes and two Oscars. His last film, Eden à l’Ouest is a road movie about immigration that is to be released in 2009. We’ve met him at his home in Paris.
